Only thing I can think of RS is that SkyMexico has been broadcasting some from Solidaridad for quite some time. It's at 113, SatMexV is at 116. That might cause even a bigger headache. One thing I don't know is why they broadcast from both sats for months/years?) in the first place. This service is intended strictly for Mexico, with a different service for the rest of Latin America from the Sky folks. I think they occupy all of PAS-6B with that programming. They were running a SkyMexico promo on SatMexV for awhile after launch.

Is the problem one in all HS601's? They claim not. It appears to be affecting sats launched at about the same time. I need to look at exact dates for PAS-5, GAlaxy VIII, HGS-1, Palapa, and I left out the Astra bird previously. YIKES--that list is growing! It definitely won't affect SatMexV--they knew of the problem before it launched.

The SkyMexico deal appears to go like this. They started out on Sol.2, and planned to go to PAS-5. They have subs in Spain and this sat allows coverage there. For awhile, they broadcast on both sats. Then the programming was mostly pulled from PAS-5. They will now stay on Sol. 2 for the time being, probably until fall when their contract runs out. They then will move to another PanAmSat bird that has yet to be launched. This is what I am guessing is going on. That would also explain why they didn't go on SatMexV. So, it is a temporary victory for SatMex. Makes one wonder too what ails PAS-5.
