Andreas, Agree 100%

If I was buying a $700 PC and the salesman said it would cost me $725 for an Intel chip-----Why take a chance? Buy the "name brand" and dish out the extra $30.

Dell also has plans for the sub-$1000 PC. Guess what chips they will be using? I think Dell's entry here will add a lot to the cheap CPU market for Intel.

Andreas - Re: "Do these people actually believe that consumers will stay with amd if its price advantage evaporates after intc price cuts take hold?? "

The CNBC folks have different "priorities".

Since 99% of their guests are involved in making money buying and selling stocks - and NOT MAKING AND SELLING CPUS - their loyalties are to those who benefit by stocks that go WAY UP or WAY DOWN.

I'm sure Maria likes to oblige her "friends".

No way. Actually if the market believed what CNBC says the AMD stock price would at 118 not 18. These the only times that you can buy INTC or MSFT at a bargain.
