Excellant point on the difference between the "warnings." I think most people didn't read the difference. (I caught it the first time, but it slipped past me tonight.) I think the effect was the same as an earnings warning. The analysts seem to view it in that fashion, and have revised their earnings estimates.

Here is a trivia piece for your INTC investment. INTC must have a lot of money to invest. They keep buying or making heavy investments in small tech companies.

* SHIVA CORP late Friday said stockholders approved its planned
$185 mln acquisition by INTEL CORP. The merger will be effective
as of Feb. 27. The agreement announced Oct. 19 called for Shiva to
become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Santa Clara, Calif.-based
Intel and to operate as a part of its network products division.
The companies announced in October that Intel would pay $6 per
share to acquire Shiva, a remote access provider. (Reuters 06:50
