NW..Honesty is not this gang's reputation. Given what has transpired over the last 18 months why would anyone trust anything CPQ management says. There is only one way to repair that mistrust and every long time follower of CPQ knows what it is. Too bad no one has the brass to do it.
BTW..72 huh..I'm impressed. Hope I am as up to snuff when I get there too.
Steve

based on my conversations with 3 brokerage houses and the 1000 or so posts, maybe an earnings warning is a bit premature....They did warn business is slow for the first 6 weeks of the qtr. and they would take a 100mm charge on the brazil thing....As far as i can tell the talking heads get paid to have strong opinions, but they are all saying different things and cpq isn't saying anything about the next 4 weeks.......bottom line is everyone is confounded as to what the h-ll is going on.......time will tell, but I guarantee yoou the pc market is not deadf and the growth has not peaked as the paine webber analyst has suggested....there are just a lot of cross currents going on now that are not understood.....market doesn't like uncertainty, therefor sell the cfompanies whose own execs don't know how to explainn their industry activity with any clarity...........................
IMHO its as simple as that
