Well, yes. That, and the fact that some 85% of Americans consider themselves "Christians". But of course it is true that Christians have drawn much animosity since the very beginning, in Jerusalem. <>< As you probably know, it was so dangerous to be identified as a Christian (before they were even called that) in the very early days in Jerusalem and surrounding towns, that the fish sign was drawn in the dust of the ground with a stick. It was a sort of password. If you knew what it meant, then you were a friend. If the other didn't catch/comprehend your scribbles in the dust, then any conversation after that was guaranteed to be very ordinary.
