Make it three sales, JDN. As you write:

>Much easier to
>pick up the lap top [and take it in for repairs, if needed, than a desktop]. Plus, the desktop takes up so doggone much room compared
>to a laptop. Were they both equal in performance I would be willing to pay some
>more just for the convenience factor.

The problem with CPQ's notebooks is that excluding the ***VERY*** expensive Armada line, the other two lines do not offer the add-ons people who anticipate using their notebooks mostly at home will (or do) want, namely mini or full expansion bases. I mentioned this in a posting yesterday and I am going to write a more detailed report this weekend [and get the e-mail address for someone at CPQ from Rudedog]. I want, need a notebook, but a requirement is that I have the add-ons to make it, "Home friendly." Dell offers what I want. So does Gateway. So does Compaq, but at a cost, even with yesterday's price cuts, almost $2,000 more that what seems to me, no better than what I can get from the other two companies.

To all: Today is the thread's birthday. As Stan wrote when he started the CPQ thread three years ago today:

>Has CPQ bottomed? Or is there more downside to come? Is this a
> buying opportunity? Or should we wait on the sidelines to see?
> Should we sell?

> Thanks,

Oh You sly person. I like the way you eased into a sales call and
with good argument. Maybe Compaq should hire you!
