Cowpland isn't the most competitive, he's got a "Donald Trump" like EGO. You are correct, in that if Linux does succeed Corel could profit nicely. He has proven that he bring a startup company to mid-size profitably. However, once he gets there he has proven unable to get to the next step. Mike Potter realized the same fact as well, and let go of the reins at Cognos. Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Larry Ellison are some of the few to do so. Others to fail miserably , Philippe Kahn (aka Borland), Ray Noorda. They are probably all still wealthy, but not as successful as they wished to be. They need to remove Cowpland from the equation, however, I doubt that his ego (and his trophy wife) will let him. He loves the fast lane too much.

Ciao!
