AIN ZALA, Iraq (AP) - U.S. airstrikes on two communications centers in northern Iraq will stop the flow of oil through the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline indefinitely, an Iraqi oil official said today.

Because of the two strikes, which occurred one day and 70 miles apart, it will take ''a long time'' to resume pumping, said Hussein al-Fattal, head of operations for Iraq's Northern Oil Company.

Of course, it's impossible to know if "a long time" means a week, a month, or ????? to the person quoted.
