Iacocca Opens For Business 3/2/99

From EV WORLD: evworld.com

If all goes well this week, Lee Iacocca's EV
Global Motors should begin shipping their first
production E-Bikes (pictured above) to their first
600 dealers. While skeptical Wall Street analysts
question whether or not there's a market for it in
the United States, there's no question Iacocca has
come up with a fully-featured product.

The E-Bike is driven by a state-of-the-art hub
motor and a 24 volt power system. It comes with
a suspension front fork as standard and an
optional front disk brake. Also standard is the
integrated battery charge indicator, headlamp and
rear tail light.

The E-Bike is capable of running 20 miles at 15
mph on battery power only. You can also pedal
the bike independently or with power-assist. The
company offers three models: the Standard, the
Comfort model with a suspension seat post, wider
gel saddle, rear rack and swept back riser handle
bars, and the top-of-the-line Touring model. Base
price is $995.
