LOL- the OLD testament God was much more cognizant of the need to give material goods to his followers. Perhaps those followers were a tougher sell. I mean God had to smite people right and left for those people. So when Jesus came along, with this "less is more" religion- it must have been a big relief to the Godster. Sort of "Ask not what your God can do for you, but ask what you can do for your God."
