I don't have any FACTS here, just musing. As a holder of Microsoft shares, and seeing them fighting software piracy worldwide, I cannot help but wonder if the motivation behind this ID stuff would be stopping illegal use of software, especially in parts of the world where the legal systems are not in place to protect intellectual property rights. Just my thought, Fred.

People don't want others to be able to trace where they go on the net. If nothing else, think about the amount of "Porn" sites out there that people don't want themselves traced to.

Also, two way communication is in the near future. You don't want people to be able to turn on the chip over the net.
