Hi Frank:

When you first described the idea of unbundling
telephone/cable services at higher levels of the
networking stack, I must admit that I was skeptical.
However, the more I think about it, the more logical
and obvious it seems. In many ways, this is the telecom
analog of the mechanism used to deregulate electricity,
where the transport network remains regulated, but where
users are free to buy power from many suppliers.
For the telecom world, replace power by
phone/video/ISP services, and the parallel exists.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy
