I think you are right. If you look at the first four Gospels, the ones written by people who knew Christ, or knew people who knew him, it's almost impossible not to come to that conclusion. The problem, of course, is that Christ is supposed to be the Messiah, the Saviour, and his message is supposed to be for all men for all time. There is a great deal of gloss on what Christ must have meant, and not much emphasis on what he actually said. Which is why I have come to the conclusion that he was not omniscient, that he was human, and fallible. He never said otherwise.
