Don:

I may have misled you.

I took a $10 flyer on Kettle Won in Churchill Downs' Derby Future book which I understand is not available in California. In the first round of betting, he wound up at 75-1 and probably should be higher since he is a questionable starter.

My horse, in which I have a small interest, also has been nominated for the Triple but is even less of a possible starter due to a lesion on a tendon. Also Pletcher-trained, he is of the Storm Cat lineage, a grandson, in fact. Since I have several partners I will keep the name off the record for the moment.

I did notice that Kettle Won had a good workout the other day at Hialeah; so there still may be hope that he could be conditioned for one of the Classics. Actually, from what I see so far of the hopefuls, my guess is that the winner likely will come out of those running on California tracks.

Best regards,

Len
