Re: An $800 difference between the AMD and the Intel model, even when the Intel model has a smaller screen? My god, Intel's mobile Pentium II processor doesn't even cost $800! And even if it did, that must mean that AMD's mobile K6-2 is being given away for free.

That's rubbish.

I am sure that they are paying in the $120-150 range for these mobile chips.

Basically Toshiba is selling the PII's to it's high end business segment and the poor ole K6 mobile's to those poor consumers who have to scrape their last few cents together to buy the mobile K6-2 333.

And Tench, remember the corporate mantra ... nobody wants cheap PC's...
