Richard,

This study area is about 12,000 square miles. There are several areas where subjective statistical data predict that there might be a deposit. Two of the weakest areas were in the Sauceda Mountains. The over-all conclusion of the report with respect to copper deposits was, that there is a 10% chance that there might be 2 commercial deposits in the whole 12,000 square miles. The USGS did not "identify any mineral deposits" unless there was additional production or exploration data. There is none for the Sauceda Mountains. In the area of Maxam's proposed mine, the only mention is of the possibility of an evaporite deposit.
