My understanding is that a USB link is actually a PPP serial link. All it does is to wrap IP packets with its HDLC like header. You know
it starts with "7E" and ends with "7E". That's my understanding. I believe that the Motorola cable modem must have a USB port too. So all they need to do is hook them up with a cable. I don't know how fast a USB port can support. A gentleman in Motley Fool board told me it runs faster than a 10baseT NIC. If that is the case I am happy.
