I think what you wanted to say was Datek is to ISLD what ARCA is to TNTO.

Otherwise you are absolutely right. Datek owns ISLD (or actually Datek's holding company does), but this doesn't mean that putting an order into Datek means the same as simply accessing ISLD direct as with a DOE broker.

Many Datek customers don't realize that there is a sophisticated order routing software between the Datek order entry and the actual execution. So, when you put in a market order, it does NOT go directly to ISLD. I happen to think ISLD orders through Datek are faster than through a DOE broker, but that's neither here nor there. If you were accessing ISLD directly from Datek's order entry, you'd have locked/crossed markets all the time, with tons of rejected orders - the customers wouldn't know how to deal with this. Also, note that you can get decent executions of listed issues through Datek.

If you use any ECN directly, you have to use limit orders.
