As AOL gets more and more representation in the major Growth Mutual Funds (Fidelity, Vanguard), as the broad markets take a hit, I think you can expect some lightening up in AOL. Sometimes knocks on the broad averages will work to the advantage of an AOL (money managers moving funds into an AOL because of stronger prospects or conviction) but with the overall market getting spooked on high tech (Dell's earnings disappointment, questions about interest rates following the outstanding economic growth statistics), we have to be prepared for AOL to follow some of the other major indicators... It is no longer an undiscovered super-growth stock -- rather it is a DISCOVERED and highly-owned and covered super-growth stock. Let's not panic over the first minor correction or pause.

Jenne,

That observation was not very astute. Seems to me that AOL went from a trading range between 70-75 to one between 85-90, which is about a 20% jump in the past 4 weeks. Has the Dow done this? No...

You cannot expect AOL to add 20% per month every single month. Evem if the Dow or any other stupid index rocketed the next 2 months at 10% per month, and AOL stayed flat, it wouldn't say anything. Even marathoners cannot sprint the 5th, 6th, and 7th miles--AOL needs and deserves a rest here.

No need for paranoid, minute-by-minute overanalysis. Those of us who have held this stock over the past 6 months or mnore have already gotten a lifetime gain--"normal" appreciation from here is just fine.
