David. So your post got me curious! I've now learned a lot... I am NOT a doctor! Strep. group A is not meningococcemia, but infection by strep.A can often facilitate an attack by Staph. A or B, which I presume is gram negative, because it's apparently the bug which can bring on bacterial meningitis and septic shock. The Staph. bug is also, in some cases, the guy which brings on necrotising fascitis-- the 'flesh eating' germ. Let's let the MD's take it from there! Pax et Bonum, mch
