In COMS last cycle down, I rode down from low 40s averaged down at 36 (similar to you) but did not have the stomach to average down further in the low 20s (having seen how some of the networking companies like BAY, SHVA, PAIR, NN, etc. went down all the way to the teens and in some cases single didgits). In retrospect that was an error. What distinguishes COMS from those names is that it is still a leader in its field (NICs , Palms). My experience has been that leaders bounce back faster (look at ASND). I am a buyer tomorrow (even if it is on the way up on a dead cat bounce ). The market works in mysterious ways - Intel hasn't had any negative signs but the stock is down 25 points (about 20%) in 6 trading sessions. One encouraging sign in this sell-off is that small and medium cap techs are holding their values relatively better. In fact the Russell 2000 was up marginally today.
