Pravin,

My guess is I think the new processors are probably just tweeked .25u process. it's a first sign of movement in 9 months (as far as speed grades go). We are finally at 300 MHz with MII.
I think they should sell the PR366 part as a desktop as well. Actually, they have to sell them to desktop market if they want to sell any chips between now and the summer.
I don't now how will this chip compare to Intel and AMD mobile chips in power consumption. If they are on par, I think Cyrix has a potential of doing well. If you look at competition, the highest performance chip is PII-366 with 256K on chip L2. PR-366 should not be too far back.
Re: lack of 3DNow - I don't think anyone cares about it or KNI (or whatever), especially in laptops.

Joe

Pravin,

Pravin NSM is using terminology like the ASIC guys. The min feature sizes are 0.18 and the poly here is 0.18 micron IMHO. AMD and Intel are being much more agressive with their transistors and poly and Gate Oxides.

The 266 GX will do OK, particularly if the go single chip rather than 2 chip set.

The rest of the product is doomed.

I am getting out tomorrow and will probably buy Intel although I may buy more Compaq instead.

Regards,

Kash
