Re: Letter from Markman....

>My suspicion is that the news media don't take the time to dig
into these announcements so they miss the fine points.<

No offense, but that's not the news media's job. That's what a PR Firm is for, isn't it?

>In any case, since we didn't release a press release, we followed up by implementing a new feature of our web site designed by our PR department; which puts the background for press releases and FAQ's related to the announcement. This should help understanding of our
business model and how the announcement fits in.<

That's SWELL, if anyone bothers to go look for it! You don't ask the people to go find the news. You give the news to the people! Call me a fool, but it seems to me that if this was news that GMGC was happy about, they would have done their own press release too. If I'm wrong in this logic, feel free to let me have it!

>Hope that helps. Much luck to you,
Steve<

Well, actually Steve, it didn't help much. I've been on the fence for a while, but the fence just got taller and now there's a doberman barking at me.

VIPER-------<

P.S. Just a thought here. I DO admire the fact that Steve took the time to reply to this guy, I really do, but I gotta say this. When an investor tells another investor on a stock board "good luck", that's pretty common. I do it all the time. But when a CEO tells an investor
"much luck to you", that can be taken 2 ways. Maybe I read these things too closely, but that sounds like something that you tell someone who has cancer. I'm sure it wasn't meant that way. Hope Steve can see my point here.

Thanks.

Of course they had to 'join'. They were also at W3 voice browser conference with everybody.

GMGC will even endorse the VXML standard, then like everybody, will have to retrain their people and rewrite their VUI.

But then everybody will be doing the same, some will be writing their VUI for the first time.

I hope that they aren't upgrading their website then. (Not the best PR statement in my opinion--either you are in or out of the group, missing the boat and saying you were actually 'tanning' ain't smart).

So far so good, but this standard thing will use plenty of resources and possibly clip an early lead, IMHO, and...

Development should ramp by July 4th with product announcements between then and September for the Christmas Shopping Season.
They miss that deadline, kiss revenues goodbye until next March, EOM.

I'm glad they came out then with their "we support" the standard press release. :-) If nothing else, here is one idea :-) which would guarantee a stream of PRs on a regular basis to increase the visibility: any time any thing happens which is somehow related to the technology, they can add "1" HTML list item, on their news web-page saying "Yep, we are related to this technology" :-). [And, this will then form the basis to go out with a new fresh release, since the "content" in the company has increased :-)].

Obviously, as some big time shareholders, many friends are not too happy with the lackluster performance of GMGC stock price - OR - is it the calm before the storm? :-) Are their b*tts getting some spring-time warmth yet and getting ready to move? :-)

All in a kidding spirit of course! :-)

regards to all,
-/Sonny.
