Results: First two months of 99 - Last year through the end of the year, I was just a hair above 51% for picking positive trades. After doing some research as to why my numbers were low, I realized that towards the end of 1998 I found myself trading more hype plays, trying to find the next GERN. This cut into my % in a big way.

I am not normally a GREAT stock picker for intraday trades and rely mainly on my disciplines to get me out of bad trades quickly while gauging how far to allow my winners to run.

1999 (Through 3/1/99)
------------------------

Positive Trades: 61%
Negative Trades: 39%
Total +/- as % : 77.99%

I have resisted nearly all of the hype plays and have focused mainly on trading the issues that I know best, within good sectors, and buying into a strong market. But mainly, I have kept true to my resolution of keeping my lot sizes down to 3000 or below., with the exception of ASCT.....which the last trade cost me 10K.

Early 1999 saw some very nice gains for me and I would expect it difficult to keep the 78% two month results. We are heading into typically what is considered to be a very bad time for the markets. I vow to remain true to my disciplines and resist the type of plays that cost me dearly in 1998. So far, so good.

We will see if this continues.

Trade well all.

Tj

MMK & TJ - Good chart, market direction...

Some people are saying the market is overvalued and looking for a correction, fund managers seem to be saying the fundamentals of the economy are still good and stocks should continue an overall climb. What should be the current strategy?

It seems in the past months small/mid caps are more vulnerable to the market fluctuations, it seems this presents some good buying and selling opportunities if your timing is good.

TJ - you were going to be more of a position trader - has that changed?
