One thing I suggest is that you don't sell MSFT/INTC/CSCO because
of COMS....you may sell COMS if one of the 3 giants warns.

Why would it affect?

Because the market can't tell the differences between tech's, and when one has a bad quarter, they think they all will. Tomorrow, "Le Deluge!"

I think csco will be down tomorrow. It has held very steady even while INTC/DELL/CPQ/HWP and bonds have backtracked. Now COMS warns...that is getting a little close to home. Trailing P/E is over 100. CSCO is a great co and deserves a premium but not 100+...
Good luck and better profits,
Daniel

"... any ideas on how 3COM's announcement will affect Microsoft/Intel/Dell/or Cisco ..."

I've been in and out of COMS since 1990 and have noticed that when this stock's doing well, it really flies, but it has a habit of running into deep potholes from time to time. When this happens, the other techs stumble a little bit too, but recover quite quickly. COMS takes longer to recover.

COMS is a great way to learn the DON'T BE GREEDY lesson. When you're sitting on a decent profit, take some chips off the table. If you don't, you'll soon wish you had.

Hope this helps, PW.
