John, My response may be a bit fuzzy, cause I am not too good with words. I too , believe it or not, believe in salvation only by grace. There is not one thing I could have done to replace what the Christ did for me. He said it is finished and I believe that. Now where do I go from here. If I deny that God has long ago prepared works for me, (Eph. 2:10) then I also deny grace. For if I believe that I am saved by grace(Eph. 2), then I also must believe that we are Christs workmanship unto good works which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. As hard as it is for me to be leaning on the KJV, I can see that God says there are things He prepared for me . You see? Not another church program, not another new preachers view of how things are going to work, but GOD PREPARED WORKS IN WHICH I AM TO WALK. Now, IMO, the deal is to stay close to God and be able to discern what these are. God's promise is that He will not leave us. So if I am "walking in the light as He is in the light" will I see things I could not otherwise see? John, I am not trying to sit here and say"I am right and you are wrong..nanananana"....ok? Just my view of His word, all given for instruction, reproof, etc. Two other questions, that I will ask your opinion on, tacked on to those above(sorry for so many) 1. the Eunuch.... why did he go down into the water with Phillip to be baptised after hearing about Jesus, in your opinion? 2. When he went home, as he was a man of considerable standing, do you think he taught Jesus by the same example given him? If so why? and if not IYO, why? BTW, I applaud you for reading the material. dan
