OT Huge diff between MSFT and DELL. MSFT has patents, intellectual property and a barrier to entry by competitors that is incredibly high. DELL has none of those features. DELL's innovations are not patented, secret nor difficult to duplicate. Your comparison to WMT is more accurate, except that WMT has an added advantage--more real estate, brick and mortar that is a huge barrier to competitors. No brick and mortar at DELL. AOL is also vulnerable like DELL, but they also have a huge investment in infrastructure, serving as a barrier to entry. They also have a subscriber base that is reluctant to move.
