limtex,

re: "you have to be a total lunatic not to be cautious whenever a serious analyst or two comes out with a downgrade in a tech stock today."

Caution is no doubt a virtue in this or any investment. However, I would like to point out, that if you had bought when many analysts were issuing upgrades or reiterations of 'buy's and 'strong buy's, you would have seen your investment deteriorate in value before some others issued their downgrades!

So the caution I would advise is to not take these 'experts' that seriously. If Cramer really thinks that bonds are going to outperform INTC over the next year, well of course he doesn't. I don't feel like filing extra paperwork next year when I do my taxes, so I'm not going to sell in this trough.

Cheers!

Chris

Take a look at Cramers latest in TSC. Looks like even he is throwing in the towel and seems to be saying that its all over for techs for the moment. Refers to huge slowdown in the economy and says he's in to capital preservation and wants to buy bonds!!!!

Limtex, I know i am responding a day late to your post (after having seen today's action). Well if he buying bonds, he lost some money today. This guy is a sentiment reader and very good at it (lately). He did not expect the positive analyst comments. I have not seen a story from him today on thestreet.com since around 9:00 AM (the Morgan Stanley story appeared around 10:00 AM). I think he was probably buying a lot of INTEL, Microsoft and maybe even some Dell. I guess when we see his next story---we will know. I am betting he bought today. There seems to be a shift to believing the big techs are oversold and very cheap.

In addition, I read one analyst said the Pentium III transition is going smoothly. If that is the case, Intel looks dirt cheap. Hoping to see 130s in the next couple of weeks.
