Chip: Edwards and Magee is the classic. They do give percentages for accuracy of formations. They also give a nice discussion of Dow Theory in the front of the book. They explain what the movements represent also. I think that is good because charts are showing the forces of supply and demand. This book, first written many years ago, has been updated in several subsequent editions. Formations that once appeared before regulation but do not now appear are noted. Make sure you get the thick book--there are several abridged editions. I think it is less than $50 at one of the internet sites. It is well worth it.

You are right about these lines--they are corrective. That is also noted in Edwards and Magee in Dow Theory.

A few minutes and we can see what happens.
