Virtual Ribbon Cutting Opens Shopping Site for more than 30,000 Products

ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 1999--Dell Computer Corporation (NASDAQ:DELL - news), the world's leading direct computer systems company, today unveiled www.gigabuys.com, an easy-to-navigate online superstore that provides online shoppers with a convenient one-stop shopping destination for a huge selection of computer-related products at competitive prices. The store opens for business today in the United States and will evolve and add features in coming months.

''Gigabuys.com offers all online computer shoppers a convenient way to buy all the software and accessories they need for their computers,'' said Michael Dell, chairman and CEO. Dell said the new site is a logical extension of the company's position as an industry leader in online sales, and that the company's goal is for www.gigabuys.com to become the premier shopping destination for computers and related products on the Web.

Gigabuys.com offers online shoppers a single site with a vast selection, easy navigation, competitive pricing, customized service and tight integration with www.dell.com.

-- Outstanding selection: Gigabuys.com offers more than 30,000
computer-related products and services from many of today's
leading brands, and Dell plans to offer more than 40,000 products
later this year. The site offers a consumer-oriented selection of
printers, digital cameras, personal digital assistants, scanners,
games, imaging and educational software, as well as many products
businesses need to keep running such as routers, network cards,
cables and docking stations.

-- Easy navigation: Online shoppers can quickly find the information
they need by searching for products by category, manufacturer,

Gigabuys.com include www.dell.com's "customer kit," which

systems according to system model, which will also be available

sites quick and easy.

Dell also announced it will offer customized versions of the superstore content to its corporate customers through Premier Pages. By summer, gigabuys.com will offer more features, product categories and titles, and Dell plans to deploy the site internationally later this year.
