Hello Casaubon,

It's Point and Figure charting, the oldest form of stock and index charting in the US. (Yes - Candles are older but Japan is not in the US). P&F historians put the beginning of P&F charting in the late 1800's and contend Mr. Dow himself as the original inventor.

X's are up, O's are down. It takes a minimum of a 3 box reversal to go from one column to another. Eliminates meaningless noise. The numbers are the months, with A, B, and C being OCT, NOV, and DEC. P&F charting was a rebirth for me.

Check out Ben's site for books and links at pipeline.com. If you have an interest in P&F I would suggest you purchase Burke and Dorsey's books together, and read them as such. Then Aby and Zieg.
