Example: If current daily volume exceeds yesterdays, and there is no price advance in the index compared to the previous days advance, then distribution is occurring. If the market declines on heavier volume, distribution is also occurring. The key indicator is volume when comparing day-to-day index price activity. Today IBD dropped the A/D (Accumulation/Distribution) ratings for the S&P nad NAZ from B- to C+. The DOW remained at D+.
