M2 PRESSWIRE-3 March 1999-PANASONIC: DVD-RAM offers Windows NT support for corporate and power users (C)1994-99 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

In order to meet the needs of today's corporate and power users, Panasonic has announced that its Panasonic DVD-RAM Drive LF-D101 is now shipping with drivers for Windows NT 4.0.

Already supported on Windows 95 and 98, Panasonic's DVD-RAM LF-D101 writes to 2.6GB single-sided and 5.2GB double- sided DVD-RAM media, which provides extremely low cost rewriteable storage at less than 1p per MB. One of the most powerful optical devices currently available, the Panasonic DVD- RAM drive also writes to 650MB PD media and reads all DVD and CD formats including DVD-Video, CD-R and CD-RW.

Support for Windows NT is key for corporate and power users. Power users in the design and creative industries can fully exploit the massive storage capacity and the ability to read data from other DVD and CD formats.

The Windows NT drivers are included within the LF-D101 package which consists of a SCSI DVD-RAM drive, manual, cables MPEG1 encoding and decoding software, backup software and DVD utilities which format media using UDF or FAT16 file formats. The LF-D101 can be purchased from usual channels for SRP GBP 399 ex VAT.
