Good find on the article. I had read earlier that Vene was talking to Ecuador and Columbia. It looks to me like all parties are doing what's necessary to get things lined up for the next OPEC meeting. The best possible outcome would be that Russia, Norway, Mexico, Ecuador, Columbia, and maybe Canada, all start cooperating. Not just to get prices up higher now, but to match future production to demand growth. The incentives may be there now for a really historical broadening of the base for production control.
