To me the real advantage of e-sales lies in its ability to provide access to niche products, even esoteric products. E-Bay is another model I like in that it offers extremely convenient access to resale items, an infatuation American shoppers have had since the advent of garage sales and flea markets. What does all this mean? I think it is a bit more then the net as a huge and convenient yellow pages. By way of illustration let me share a few sites that I have actually ordered from and obtained items difficult for me to find in Asia or that held a special interest to me. What a great example of how the web is a great enabler of egalitarianism.
