Greenspan warns on over-investment in Internet

WASHINGTON, March 3 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan
warned older savers on Wednesday against putting all their savings into
the highly valued stocks of companies associated with the Internet.

''As you move closer and closer to retirement you move to less and less
risky assets. If you have everything in equities, if you have everything
in Internet stocks, you're in real trouble,'' Greenspan told a House
Commerce Committee hearing on the Social Security system.

mb, I think Mike Dell's "flog the shares to suckers while I sell out tour '99" is like the weasel and the rabbit. A weasel loves the taste of rabbit, but he couldn't catch a running rabbit in his dreams. So, the old weasel puts on a show. He pretends to be drunk. He stands on his hind legs and falls over. He dances crazily in wild circles. But every fall and every dance step takes him closer to his speedy dinner. The rabbit is fascinated and won't hear any stories from bears about what weasels do to rabbits if they catch them. After all, this guy's a hoot. Next thing you know, it is "Mr. Weasel, hassenpfeiffer for one." <g> Old Mikey is holding the slow wits in thrall before he pops them like the weasel.
