I don't know if they are evaluating the PSC1000 or not, but it looks
to me as though Sun is hoping that Cadence can design a chip around
the picoJava core, something IBM, Fujitsu, LG Semicon and others have
not been able to do. Can't understand why they keep trying though,
the most cost effective, versatile java native processor (not just
the core) belongs to Patriot Scientific. Just ask Sun, they are using our development boards with the PSC1000 on it to demonstrate
the "ideal" architecture for java. Too bad pico is java specific.
When the transition to java does arrive I believe it will be from
a processor that has been optimized for C and C++ as well as java.
Maybe they're hoping Cadence can design a chip that will be all that
the ShBoom is already. I wish them luck. LOL!

Oh, and BTW I wonder how long it will be before we hear from Cadence
that they have created this chip, or is this more smoke and mirrors
like all the other picoJava announcements. Stay tuned......
