Ken - It is actually a puzzling thing why ALA wanted to buy the whole of XYLN, since ALA has already been one of the few big OEM for the latter. By taking XYLN in, one has to debate how it will affect the other OEMs, like IBM. Maybe ALA is trying to mimick NT in shredding its wireline image. Regardless, XYLN campus switches are good, but they don't post significant threat to CSCO, NT or LU. To say the least, ALA will need to make a few other acquisitions to have a chance to get into the internet segment.
