The important part of this Reuters news is found in this paragraph: The second site (www.playco.com) will feature all of the company's in-store inventory, as well as high-demand merchandise that cannot be physically stocked in its small, mall-based stores and certain exclusive collector's items. The company is set to launch the second site in April 1999. The website they just launched is to dump stale inventory, like I said it would be last month. The NEW site in April is the MAIN site which carries the companies name. . . playco.com At this site, they will be selling ALL of the toys their retail stores carry, but also many that are not stocked in the retail stores, plus many of the collectibles. . . But rather than leave it at that, the company is installing internet kiosks, probably similar to those made by OSFT. This way, you walk into a PLAY CO TOYS and you don't see the Barbie you want. . .no problem. . .call it up on the screen and order it to be sent to your house, or maybe the store. . whatever. . .and "oh, by the way. . .did you notice the 30 year old Barbies for sale online?" That's a better picture of what they are doing. But again, I have to say, I am impressed at the LACK of fluff and hype by the company press releases. They make no grand claims and are VERY down to earth. . they act like the responsible NASDAQ stock they wish to once again become. . . .if we can see their stock price rise. Rande Is
