Here's a bit of analysis of two IPO/spinoffs I took part in over the last few months. The first was MALL spinning off UBID and the second was DBCC spinning off MKTW. When the S-1 was filed by UBID, MALL finished up $4.50 and when MKTW filed, DBCC finished up 0.69. Today our beloved NAVR finished up 5/16th. I was able to unload some of my shares a 17 11/16th today in hopes of buying them back lower, which I still have not done. You'll see that for MALL/UBID approx. 5 months elapsed between the S-1 and the first day of trading and for DBC/MKTW approx. 3 months elapsed between the S-1 and the start of trading, we still have plenty of time for this thing to cook!! Anyway here are the numbers.
