Qualcomm says Q2 demand appears very strong
NEW YORK, March 3 (Reuters) - Telecommunications equipment
manufacturer Qualcomm Inc. said Wednesday its second quarter
business, which typically slows following the holiday season,
has been very strong and demand across all of its business
units is robust.
"We're seeing very, very strong demand across all the
business units. The business is very, very strong," Qualcomm
Chairman Irwin Jacobs said at the Bloomberg Fourth Annual
Telecomm Conference in New York.
Qualcomm is also working to improve revenue growth and
increase profitability across each of its businesses, Jacobs
said.
Qualcomm may also forge a strategic relationship in its
infrastructure business. Depending on the outcome of the
possible relationship, the company may seek to raise additional
money or funding, Jacobs said. He did not provide further
details.
Qualcomm shares closed at 73-1/8 on the Nasdaq, down 5/8 on
the day. The stock has a 12-month high of 75-9/16 and a
12-month low of 37-3/4.
