Things that I have learned from following S3 for 4 years:

S3 almost always retreats the next day(s) after a good sized runup. Maybe all stocks do this and S3 is not an exception. Just wish I could get the nerve to sell it at the high and then buy it back a couple of days later for a 1 to 2 point profit.

S3 usually sells off right before earnings announcement.

If there are a lot of open call options at a specific price, S3 will hover around that price for the last week before expiration so that these calls expire worthlessly. I really wish that people would not buy calls on S3, it really holds the stock back at times.

Mosts posts claiming this or that about S3 never happen. I am guessing around 98% of the time. In fact I can't remember even 1 major rumour coming true. There have been a couple that may have been true about deals involving S3, but they fell through and were therefore wrong.

News always leaks out to a few people in the know at least 1 to 2 days before coming public. They get in on the action early for a 1 to 2 point gain and then sell after the stock hits its peak and are the ones who start the next days price retreat.

There are always a few incredibly sharp posters on this thread and the Yahoo thread. They obviously work in the industry and usually work for companies that do business with S3 and therefore have much better info than other posters. They are easy to pick out. Listen to them and learn.

S3's statements in news releases always seem to not happen in the timeframe expected (if at all).

The truth is out there, but most likely not posted here or anywhere else on the internet.

This is one of the most vibrant periods of S3's business. To have Creative and Diamond as add in card wins is some of the most positive news I have seen in 4 years. If both come through, S3 will have a major presence on store shelves. You will see Savage4 based cards in CompUSA, Walmart, etc. OEMs can't help being swayed by the fact that S3 will be a known name that will attract buyers if present in their systems. S3 has definitely done something right this time to attract Creative, this has major consequences. S3 is going to be advertised like it should have been a couple of years back when they spent a lot of money on a branding campaign that flopped big time. This time around I think that they have it right.
