I guess VTS really is forecasting nominal earnings for the next couple of quarters. $.84 for the first two fiscal '99 quarters leaves $.09 to reach ML's target.

I was checking out some of the recent filings and saw Morgan Stanley filed a 13G announcing a 5%+ holding in VTS. I only checked back a year or so, but I didn't notice any prior Morgan filings. I don't recall how Morgan has rated VTS.

Nicholas Applegate appears to have dumped a few shares, reducing from about 7% to 5%.

I most likely will add some additional shares at these levels. I think this could be very boring for awhile, but I can wait a year or two to double my money.
