Does anyone have any opinion on today's (3/4/99) first page column one Wall Street Journal article disclosing a research consortium among the major pharmaceutical companies to replicate much of (what appears to me to be) the same ground that Incyte now covers. To what extent are these consortium members also Incyte's existing customer base? Are they too late to the game or are their research objectives more specific and limited than are Incytes? Is this the reason that Incyte is dropping so steadily today? I'm interested in any opinions that you may have about the long term effect that this may have on Incyte's competitive alternatives.
