From Briefing- While the chip equipment makers are likely to be choppy over the next several weeks, we would not be surprised to see a pop in the group once earnings begin to roll in... Many of the leading companies showed encouraging sequential improvement last quarter... In light of analysts' aversion to potentially smothering a turnaround by issuing aggressive projections, we would expect to see chip equipment makers exceed earnings estimates once again.
