Bob,

Did you notice this sentence in the article (near the end):

Halla believes the fab's process technology has at least a three-month lead on Intel's best efforts.

Bob - From that HallaPeno article:

"Executives who work closest with Halla appreciate the new approach. "Halla focuses on the products and getting them to market on time," says Pat Brockett, executive vice president and general manager of the analog group, who has been at National since 1980. "We used to try to win the game by watching the scoreboard, not by what was happening on the field."

Has Halla got ANY PRODUCT TO MARKET AT ANY TIME ?

Forget about just being LATE !

Paul

Bob,

The Portland fab went from producing no Cyrix chips in August to making 80% of all Cyrix chips in the middle of the third quarter. And between 2,000 and 3,000 wafer starts a month in the early going to 8,000 wafer starts most recently, says MacLeod.

What will be the capacity of the South Portland fab, when it is fully equipped?
