Dan,

With the thought that an unsaved person would not be indwelt with the Holy Spirit, the question of baptism being a necessary work of obedience for salvation comes up. This being on topic with the web site "Baptism - A Special Study"

In Acts 10 after Peter's rooftop vision providing that the Gospel was also for the Gentiles...
At verse 44 the Gentiles that are present and heard Peter speaking are converted and instantly receive the Holy Ghost as exhibited by their praising God and speaking in tongues. They were saved.
Peter says to those with him...
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

If baptism here was not necessary first for them to receive the Holy Spirit, then that would negate it as being more than an act of obedience and an outward profession of faith.

John

Incidentaly, it's actually getting above freezing here every now and then so I can stop my whining.
