On this day that Siebel was added to the W&W list, it was mentioned elsewhere in SI that Siebel is hiring the prez of SAP North America. Does anyone have verification of that?

One reason I find that interesting is because Thomas Siebel mentioned in the most recent conference call that the company has been hiring SAP salespeople at an increasing rate. Hiring their prez would be an interesting development if it is accurate.

Confirmed. SAP Anerica's president has resigned to be Siebel's VP of North American operations. His background is financial, which adds balance to Siebel's sales background.

You also might want to reconsider Gemstar (GMST). There's no question in my mind that Gemstar is a potential gorilla. You may not get a second nomination for this stock because it is not well known even though its market cap is already $3 billion.

Mike:
Yes, I do believe in the convergence of television and the internet. I await the days that I will be able to flip my moniter on and watch movies, television, listen to the radio all through the copper/coaxial pipe that is running into my house (and hopefully have it displayed via a stable OS ;o). I believe that we are beginning to see this trend, especially with companies like broadcast.com and Real Networks. Therefore, Gemstar seems to be a logical fit in this arena. As long as there are no objections, and I forsee none, the G&K W&W portfolio will be updated to reflect this addition!!

Keep the recommendations coming guys and gals! We got a good thing going here, I can feel it!
