This "genetic predisposition" to compete is quite possibly the only thing that has ensured our species survival. Having said that, "males" ability to cooperate is also evidenced by the fact that our species has survived. As much as you may hate to admit it, through history, human society has been much like the society of other large predators. Without the benevolent protection of the male, the society ceased to exist. With this in mind perhaps you should be more deferential when you are trashing us neanderthals.
