You are so full of it. MLRE never traded in November, How did you short it? How were you talking about it over thanksgiving when it didn't trade until Dec. 15? And if you did short it at 12-13, you would have only spent 2 weeks upside down, that is figuring you weren't smart enough to short more at higher levels. MLRE did not trade at 12 until 12/21/98 and was back to 12 in two weeks, You would have only had to average up for 8 trading days and then it was all downhill. How could you lose money shorting a stock that went from 4 to 27 in 2 weeks and has spent everday since falling to now sit at $6?

At least get your story in the right month if you want to try and make a point.
